Testimonials

So nice that I went there twice! This is pretty much the only dedicated live music space on the island, and each night there’s something new. I loved the outdoor ambiance, the delightful cocktails but most of all, the attention to the music and the sound. Definitely a place to spend time if you’re a music lover.

Loved the homey feeling. It's in the backyard of David Kirton's house. He is Barbadian's recording artist's. You are greeted by David and Noelle, his wife. Can drink or/and eat as you watch music performance, who interacts with the audience. Very intimate, very welcoming, very boho.

Hosted by David Kirton

The Sage Bar & Stage is owned by David Kirton, a successful Barbadian recording artist and Noelle Attaway, his wife and manger. They have turned their private home filled with fine art and music memorabilia  into a vibrant, lively music venue with two stages and indoor and outdoor bars and seating. This is a place where Barbadian artists can share the famous bajan hospitality. David has toured the US and the UK and performed at top venues including the BBC Club,  The Greek Berkeley and The Hollywood Bowl.  Noelle's father, William Attaway was part of The  Harlem Renaissance  and wrote for Harry Belafonte including the iconic song, Day O. They owned a club together in Greenwich Village, New York in 1951 called The Sage and it is part of music history. Her mother Fran Scott was art director for Verve Records and afterhours the Sage friends including Charlie Parker, Millard Thomas, tony Scott,  Sidney Portier, Marlon Brando & Richard Wright would go to her apartment and play music and drink until morning.
